My Design Portfolio
I believe a website should be judged on more than just how it looks. It should be judged on how well it works for the business owner.
In my portfolio, you won’t just see “pretty designs”; you’ll see hard-working, custom-designed WordPress websites that are easy to navigate, fast to load, and built to turn visitors into customers.
Whether I’m working with a classic car garage in Fife or a casino hire business in Essex, my approach remains the same: clear communication, no jargon, and a focus on your bottom line.

Each build below shows the client brief, the project goals we agreed on, and exactly what I delivered, so you can see how a Gilmour Web Design project comes together.
Miss Meow Edinburgh
Maeva Wilson runs Miss Meow Edinburgh, a specialist cat care business in South West Edinburgh. She offers cat sitting, cat grooming from her EH14 studio and a cat taxi service.
Maeva had started her own site on WordPress.com but found it hard to manage. She wanted a simple, fun website that did the work for her.
Maeva wanted a site as playful and cat-focused as her business, with clear services and prices. She wanted cat owners to trust her the moment they arrived.
Her priorities were an easy enquiry form, her Google reviews on show and being found by cat owners searching locally.
I designed and built a custom one-page WordPress website in Bricks Builder, with a pink-and-green palette, polaroid photos, and paw prints throughout. Hand-drawn animations and a spinning “exclusively for cats” sticker bring the page to life.
The page covers her story, her promise, each service with prices, how it works, her Google reviews, FAQs and a contact form. I also added Privacy, Cookie and Terms pages, and handled the on-page SEO and Rank Math schema.
I host the site on SiteGround with SSL and a staging site. The finished site is fast, mobile-responsive and simple for Maeva to manage.
ML11 Architectural Design
Darren Stewart, an architectural technologist based in Blackwood near Lanark, runs ML11 Architectural Design. He prepares drawings and building warrant applications for house extensions, loft conversions, garage conversions and interior alterations across Scotland.
Darren already had a five-page site, but it no longer reflected how the business works. He wanted a rebuild that clearly explained his services and made it easy for homeowners to request a quote.
Darren wanted a site that presented him as a personal alternative to a traditional architectural practice. His priorities were a dedicated page for each of his four services and a clear explanation of how a project runs from the first call to an approved warrant.
He also wanted his three fixed-fee tiers explained without publishing prices. Being found by homeowners searching for drawings and building warrant help across Scotland was essential.
I designed and built a custom 14-page WordPress website in Bricks Builder, with a warm paper palette, a single orange accent and a bespoke icon set drawn for his services.
This included Home, About, How It Works, Pricing, FAQ, Project Quote and Contact pages, four service pages and three legal pages. I wrote the copy throughout and handled the full on-page SEO. A quote form lets homeowners send their project details in minutes.
I set up Rank Math schema, Google Search Console and Analytics, then moved the domain and hosting to SiteGround with SSL and a staging site. The finished site is fast, mobile-responsive and simple for Darren to manage. I look after it for a year, with support included.
Anne Tennent Funeral Celebrant
Anne Tennent is an independent funeral celebrant based in Coatbridge, serving families across North Lanarkshire. She came to me without a website and wanted her first proper online presence.
Anne brings a carer’s background and a warm, story-led approach to every ceremony. Her aim was a gentle, welcoming site that reflected exactly how she works.
Anne wanted a site that felt as gentle and personal as her ceremonies. The priorities were a warm tone, clear services, and an inclusive, neurodiverse-friendly welcome.
She also wanted to share her lived experience and her certifications with care. Being found by local families searching online was important too.
I designed and built a custom one-page WordPress website, shaped around Anne’s voice and the families she serves. The bespoke forget-me-not design carries a calm, reassuring feel from top to bottom.
I created clear sections for her story, her inclusive approach, her services, common questions and contact. I wrote the copy and handled the full on-page SEO. I set up her Rank Math schema, Google Search Console and Analytics.
I also arranged the domain, hosting and SSL from the start. The finished site is fast, mobile-responsive and simple for Anne to manage.
I continue to look after it through an ongoing care plan.
Provan Joiners and Builders
Provan Joiners & Builders is a family-run building firm in Carnwath, led by Steven, with over 20 years of hands-on experience. Steven came to me without a website and wanted his first proper online presence.
The aim was a professional, trustworthy site to reach homeowners right across South Lanarkshire.
Steven wanted a site that felt as polished as his workmanship. The priorities were clear service pages for extensions, garage conversions, renovations, kitchens and flooring.
He also wanted to show the firm’s Federation of Master Builders membership and its family-run values. Being found by local homeowners searching online was essential.
I designed and built a custom eight-page WordPress website centred on Provan’s services and local audience.
This included a dedicated page for each service, plus clear About and Contact pages. I wrote keyword-aware copy throughout and handled the full on-page SEO.
I also set up Rank Math schema, Google Search Console and Analytics, then arranged the domain, hosting and SSL. The finished site is fast, mobile-responsive and simple for Steven to manage.
The structure follows what I recommend on my websites for the joiners and builders page.
I continue to look after it through an ongoing care plan.

Moonlight Fun Casinos is a family-run mobile fun casino hire business in Romford, Essex, providing professional roulette, blackjack and poker tables with experienced croupiers for weddings, corporate events and fundraisers across London and the South East.
Running since 2005, the site had been neglected for years on an outdated 2016 theme and was taken offline. Natalie needed a complete rebuild that reflected the quality of the service she delivers.

Every page was written from scratch with SEO-optimised copy and structured headings. 12 blog posts were migrated, rewritten and republished with proper 301 redirects.
The technical foundation includes Rank Math schema, cookie consent, privacy and cookie policies and full terms, fully responsive, fast-loading and ready to rank across Essex, London and the South East.
Dumbarton Auto Repair
Dumbarton Auto Repair is a new independent garage business based in Dumbarton, Scotland.
Cameron needed a professional website that would help the business establish a credible online presence from launch, clearly explain its services, and make it easy for local customers to get in touch.
The website also needed to reflect the business as a local, independent garage working on modern, prestige and classic vehicles.
The main goal was to create a clean, trustworthy and professional website that would give Dumbarton Auto Repair a strong start online.
It needed to clearly explain the business, showcase the range of services offered, highlight Dumbarton’s main service area and nearby areas, and include the key legal and technical pages required for a modern business website.
The project also needed to lay the groundwork for local SEO, so the website had the best possible chance of building visibility in Google over time.
I designed and built a 5-page website for Dumbarton Auto Repair, including the Home, About, Services, Contact and Terms & Conditions pages. I also created complementary Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy pages to support the launch.
Alongside the website build, I wrote the full website content, structured the pages for clarity and usability, and completed the initial on-page SEO setup, including page titles, meta descriptions, heading structure and schema markup for key pages. I also set up the relevant Google Analytics and Google Search Console accounts and submitted the website to Google for indexing.
The finished website gives Dumbarton Auto Repair a professional, user-friendly online presence with clear service information, strong local relevance and a solid foundation for future growth.
It is a good example of what I set out on my garage website design page.
VK Classics
VK Classics is a specialist classic car business based in Dunfermline. Vladimir approached me when he was launching the business because he needed a professional, multi-page website that could compete in a crowded classic-car specialist market.
The goal was not to create a generic brochure-style site, but a website that would immediately build trust, feel established and encourage the right customers to get in touch.
The website needed to position VK Classics as a serious, credible specialist at first glance, with a strong brand feel, clear messaging, and a professional yet approachable appearance.
It had to be easy to navigate, mobile-friendly, fast-loading and structured around the things that matter most to potential customers, including trust in the workmanship, confidence in the business and a straightforward path to enquiry.
It also needed strong SEO foundations to help the site compete locally and regionally against more established businesses, while allowing room for future expansion as the business grows.
I designed and built a multi-page website for VK Classics that gave the business a strong and credible online presence from launch.
The site was structured to clearly present the business, its specialist services, and the reasons customers should choose VK Classics over nearby alternatives.
The content and layout focused on trust, positioning, and usability, with clear calls to action, straightforward navigation, and a polished, independent specialist feel throughout.
Alongside the website build, I put solid SEO foundations in place to support future search visibility and make the site easy to expand over time with new service pages, project photos, and SEO-focused content.
The finished website gave VK Classics a professional, established platform that reflected the business’s quality and laid a strong foundation for future growth.

Caledonia Coachworks
Caledonia Coachworks is a classic car restoration business based in Newbridge, Edinburgh, with a particular focus on classic air-cooled Porsches and other prestigious marques.
Ryan wanted a brand-new website for the business that would present Caledonia Coachworks as a serious specialist, reflect the quality of its work, and give the business a professional online presence from the outset.
The main goal was to create a multi-page brochure-style website that looked polished, specialist and trustworthy, while also reflecting the character of the business. The design needed to feel clean and modern, with a subtle vintage influence that suited the classic-vehicle market.
The site also needed a clear page structure, dedicated service pages, and a blog section so the business could showcase its expertise, support future content growth and build visibility in search over time. As the business was still relatively new, strong SEO foundations were important from the start.
