About Gilmour Web Design

“Gilmour Web Design”, “I”, “me”, or “my” refers to the business owned and operated by Kevin Gilmour, providing web design and related services in the UK.

“You” refers to the client, customer, or website visitor.

Services I provide

I offer services such as:

• Website Design Services
• Website Redesign Service
• SEO Services
• Web Hosting & Domain Names
• WordPress Maintenance Services
• Content Creation & Copywriting
• eCommerce (WooCommerce) Website Creation

Details of each service are agreed in writing before the project begins.

Project quotes & pricing

• All quotes are valid for 30 days from the date they are given.
• Prices will be clearly outlined before work starts.
• If the project scope changes (e.g., extra pages, new features), the price may be updated.

Any additional work not included in the original quote will be discussed and agreed upon before it begins.

Payments

Unless otherwise agreed:

Website projects

• A deposit is required before work begins.
• The final balance is due once the website is completed and approved, before it goes live.

Ongoing services

• Hosting, domains, and care packages are billed monthly or annually, depending on your chosen plan.
• Late payments may result in suspension of services until the balance is settled.

Payment methods

Bank transfer is the preferred method, but other options can be discussed if needed.

Your responsibilities

To help the project run smoothly, I may need:

• Text content, images, or branding assets
• Access to existing accounts (hosting, domains, WordPress, etc.)
• Feedback and approvals in a timely manner

Delays in providing these may affect project timelines.

You are responsible for ensuring that all content you supply:

• Is accurate
• Is lawful
• Does not infringe any copyright

My responsibilities

I will:

• Provide the services agreed upon in a professional and timely manner
• Communicate clearly throughout the project
• Deliver a website that functions as described
• Take reasonable care of your information and assets
• Meet agreed deadlines where possible

I will always aim to resolve issues quickly and keep your project moving forward.

Website launch

Once your website is ready, I will ask you to review and approve it.

After approval:

• I will launch the website on your hosting environment
• Any issues directly related to my work will be fixed promptly
• Further changes outside the agreed scope may incur additional charges

Web Hosting & domains

If you choose to use my hosting or domain services:

• I will manage the technical setup and configuration
• Hosting is billed monthly or annually
• Failure to pay hosting fees may result in temporary suspension

If you choose to use an external host, I cannot be responsible for:

• Their performance
• Downtime
• Security issues
• Server restrictions

Ongoing WordPress maintenance support & care packages

Care packages are optional and designed for WordPress websites.

They include services such as:

• Updates
• Backups
• Security checks
• Performance monitoring
• Content updates (up to an agreed amount)

Care packages:

• Are billed monthly or annually
• Can be upgraded, downgraded, or cancelled at any time
• Do not include major redesigns or development work unless agreed separately

Intellectual property

What you own

You own:

• All text, images, and branding you supply
• Final website content created for you (after full payment)

What I own

I retain rights to:

• Any design concepts not chosen
• My underlying design processes and templates
• Any custom code I create, unless agreed otherwise

After full payment, you are granted a licence to use the website for your business.

Third-party tools & plugins

Websites may use third-party tools such as plugins, themes, or integrations.

I cannot guarantee the long-term performance of third-party software, but I will:

• Choose reliable, reputable tools
• Keep them updated as part of care packages
• Help resolve issues where possible

Some services may require separate licences or subscription fees.

SEO, rankings & performance

I provide strong SEO foundations, but:

• No one can guarantee top search engine positions
• Rankings depend on many external factors
• SEO improvements often take time to show results (usually 3 to 6 months)

I commit to best practices, honest guidance, and clear communication.

Liability

I will never intentionally cause harm, but I cannot be held liable for:

• Loss of income, sales, or business due to website downtime
• Issues caused by third-party hosting, plugins, or software
• Problems arising from changes you make without consulting me
• Data loss outside of my control

My total liability will not exceed the total amount paid for the project or service.

Cancellations

You may cancel a project or service at any time.

Project cancellations

If you cancel after the project has begun:

• The deposit is non-refundable
• Payment may be required for work already completed

Service cancellations

Hosting or support plans can be cancelled at the end of the current billing period.

Changes to these Terms & Conditions

These terms may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in services or legal requirements.
