Why Tradespeople Need a Different Kind of Website
A trade website has one job: make the phone ring. Your customers are searching on a mobile, often in a hurry, and often after something has gone wrong. They want to see that you are local, insured and easy to reach. They want proof that you have done this kind of job before. And they want to get in touch in a couple of taps.
They also want to see that you are a professional. Fairly or not, the building trades carry a reputation problem, and a homeowner comparing two firms will pick the one that looks the more established. A professional website is the quickest way to be that firm.
That is why I build every trade website around the same essentials: a clear list of services, the areas you cover, your accreditations, real photos of your work, reviews, and a contact route that works from a phone screen. The look changes from trade to trade. The job stays the same.

Bespoke Websites for Trades and Construction
From the first call-out to a full order book, tradespeople need a website that looks reliable and gets found fast. Here is how I help each trade.

Garages & Mechanics
From MOTs to full servicing, I build websites that keep your bays busy and your phone ringing.

Joiners & Builders
From fitted kitchens to full extensions, I build websites that show off your craft and win you more enquiries.

Plumbers
A clear, mobile-friendly site that helps local customers find you the moment a tap starts leaking.

Electricians
Wiring, testing, EV chargers and solar. I put your electrical services in front of the right people.

Painters & Decorators
Show off your finish with a website built to display your work and turn visitors into booked jobs.

Bricklayers
A professional site that showcases your masonry and helps builders and homeowners get in touch.

Plasterers & Roughcasters
Smooth walls, smooth enquiries. I build websites that help plasterers pick up more local work.

Gas & Heating Engineers
Show you are Gas Safe and make it easy for a worried customer to reach you the moment a boiler fails.

Roofers
A trustworthy site that shows off your finished roofs and reassures cautious homeowners before they call.

Scaffolders
Look safe, insured and reliable, so builders and firms choose you for their next contract.
What Every Trade Website Includes
Whichever trade you are in, the build starts from the same foundations:
- A mobile-first design, because that is where your customers are.
- Service pages written to rank for searches like “plasterer in Edinburgh“.
- Local SEO built in, including LocalBusiness schema and help with your Google Business Profile.
- Trust signals where people look for them: Gas Safe, NICEIC, FMB, Checkatrade, reviews and photos of finished work.
- Tap-to-call buttons and a short enquiry form that works on a phone.
- A free domain name, a year of UK hosting, unlimited business email and a full year of website care. No VAT to add.
Prices match my standard WordPress web design packages: one-page sites from £399, brochure sites from £895, multi-page sites from £1,950.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a website for a tradesperson cost?
A one-page website starts from £399 and suits a sole trader who needs a solid presence fast. Most trade websites are brochure sites of up to five pages, from £895. Firms with several services or areas usually need the multi-page package, from £1,950. Every option includes your domain, a year of hosting and a year of website care, with no VAT to add. I fix the quote in writing before any work starts.
My trade is not listed. Can you still help?
Yes. The ten pages above are the trades I am asked about most often, but the approach works for any trade or construction business. Tell me what you do, and I will explain what your site would need.
Do I need a website if I get work from Checkatrade or Facebook?
Those channels work until the platform changes its rules or its prices. Your own website is the one thing you control, and it is where customers go to check you out before they call. It also picks up searches those platforms miss.
How long does a trade website take to design and build?
Most take two to four weeks from the first chat to going live. The main variable is how quickly you can send me your details, photos, and accreditations. I have written more on how long a website takes to build.
Will my website show up when people search for my trade in my town?
That is what the site is built for. Every trade website gets local SEO foundations from day one, and I have explained what that involves in my guide to local SEO for small businesses. Rankings take time to build, so I am honest about timescales.
